Rosneft and the Government of Yamal Foster Cooperation

During the XXVII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Rosneft and the Government of Yamal signed a cooperation agreement.

The document was signed by Igor Sechin, Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft,
and Dmitry Artyukhov, Governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YaNAO).

The Agreement provides for cooperation of the parties in implementation of industrial, financial and social programs that support the social and economic development and create favorable conditions for improving the living standards of the YaNAO's population.

Rosneft is implementing strategically important upstream projects in the region.
Both parties to the Agreement intend to join efforts to increase the mineral resource base, improve the investment attractiveness and efficiency of the development of hydrocarbon reserves in the region.

Under the Agreement Rosneft will support the development of Yamal's industrial and scientific potential, engage local producers of goods and services in implementation of its investment projects, and provide an opportunity to the small and medium-size enterprises to participate in the Company's procurement procedures. The parties intend to improve the competitiveness of regional manufacturers of equipment and materials in order to meet the needs of oil and gas companies, and to boost import substitution and localization of equipment and technologies.

Rosneft will also support the development of the projects in educational, scientific, technical and innovative activities in the YaNAO. There are Rosneft Classes at several schools of the region, they are the first stage of the “School-University-Enterprise” corporate program to train qualified specialists for the oil and gas industry.

An important provision of this Agreement is cooperation in environmental activities, creation of favorable conditions for environmental and climate projects implementation in Yamal, development of eco-friendly modes of transport, and energy efficiency improvement.
