Rosneft and the Government of Yamal Develop Cooperation in Education

During the XXVII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Rosneft Oil Company and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YaNAO) signed an Agreement on financing
the construction of a school in Gubkinsky.

The document was signed by Igor Sechin, Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft, and Dmitry Artyukhov, Governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

The construction of the school for 800 students equipped with modern equipment will be carried out in pursuance of the objectives set out in the Russian President's Address to the Federal Assembly regarding the need to establish and renovate schools in the country's regions.

The school will replace an outdated one-story building constructed in Gubkinsky in 1986. It is planned to build an information and technical center, gyms, a canteen, an assembly hall, a lecture theatre with a stage, as well as specialized classrooms with laboratories for studying natural sciences and IT-technologies in the new general education institution.

Since 2015, Rosneft and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug have had a Cooperation Agreement under which joint programs in the social and scientific spheres, environmental protection, exploration and production and other are being implemented.

The Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is one of the largest oil and gas producing regions in Russia. Rosneft produces oil, gas and gas condensate here. To date, accumulated production at the Company's fields in Yamal exceeds 340 million tons of oil and 390 billion cubic meters of gas. The development and operation of oil and gas fields in the region are carried out by the Company's major subsidiaries - RN-Purneftegaz, Rospan International, Tyumenneftegaz, Sibneftegaz and Kharampurneftegaz. Rosneft subsidiaries in the YaNAO employ more than 15,000 people and over 21,000 employees of contractor organizations.

The town of Gubkinsky, built by oilmen, is the base for several Rosneft subsidiaries.
With the Company's support, most socially important facilities have been built in the city: a city hospital, a children's library, music and art schools, two swimming pools, an indoor ice arena, residential complexes, the Palace of Culture “Neftyanik”, which is one of the largest social facilities in Yamal, and the construction of a new Ice Palace is underway.
