- Rosneft accepts BP’s proposal to extend the deadline for the deal
BP has asked Rosneft to extend the deadline for the share swap agreement, pending the final decision of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, and in order to implement the share swap transaction between Rosneft and BP.

- Rosneft Obtains License to Explore the Naulskoye Field in the Nenets Autonomous District
Rosneft acquired a license to explore the Naulsk oil fields, located in the Nenets Autonomous District. The Company paid RUB 3.6 billion for the license at auction.

In January 2011, OJSC Rosneft Oil Company and BP signed agreements regarding strategic cooperation and an exchange of shares between the two companies. In February, in response to a demand by ARR referring to the shareholders’ agreement between BP and TNK, the High Court of Justice in London issued an injunction halting completion of these deals.

- Rosneft increases exchange trading of petroleum products
Rosneft sold 271,600 tonnes of petroleum products on the Saint Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange during February 2011 for 5.5 billion rubles. Sales on the Exchange represented 22.5% of total domestic sales of petroleum products by the Company during the month.

Rosneft will hold its first Winter Sports Festival (‘Spartakiada’) from March 1 to March 4 at the Novogorsk Sports Training Center and the Planernaya Olympic Training Center in the town of Khimki, just outside Moscow.

- Rosneft discovers two new fields in East Siberia
Rosneft geologists have discovered two new oil & gas fields at the Sanarsky and Preobrazhensky license areas in East Siberia. Both areas are located in Katangsky District of Irkutsk Region, and were acquired by Rosneft at auctions in 2006 and 2007.

- Rosneft lowers product prices in Russia for second time since start of February
The President of Rosneft, Eduard Khudaynatov, and other Company officials decided at a meeting on February 11 to create a special group of managers responsible for allocation of motor fuels, which are produced and sold by the Company, and for monitoring of petroleum product sales in order to avoid unjustified overpricing on the domestic market.
