- Rosneft Takes an Important Step in Expanding into the Strategic Market of Venezuela
Moscow, December 8, 2011. Rosneft and PDVSA today signed a tentative memorandum of understanding to set up a joint venture to develop heavy crude oil reserves in Venezuela as part of the Carabobo-2 project. Rosneft will hold a 40% stake in the planned joint venture with the remaining 60% to be owned by PDVSA subsidiary CVP.

- Rosneft announces Q3 2011 results: Rosneft EBITDA reaches USD 5.3 billion in Q3 2011, oil production increases by 2.9% and reaches 2.4 million barrels per day, strategic steps taken
Rosneft’s EBITDA amounted to USD 5,283 million in Q3 2011, which is an increase of 13.9% year-on-year. An increase in the tax burden, particularly due to annulment of a reduced export duty for Vankor crude and the end of Vankor MET holidays, put downward pressure on the figure. The increase was also tempered by higher transportation and electricity tariffs year-on-year.

- Rosneft Discovers New Deposit in Krasnodar Region
Rosneft geologists have discovered a new high-yield oil deposit in the western part of the Sladkovsko-Morozovsky oil and gas region of the Slavyansko-Temryuksky license field in the Krasnodar Region. Recoverable reserves are initially estimated at over 500,000 tons of oil.
